Dates for 2011: Friday, Dec. 2nd through Tuesday, Dec. 6th.
Times: Exhibit open from 1-8:30pm daily.
Where: 4141 NW Harrison Blvd. in Corvallis, OR
This year's exhibit features a theme incorporating the streets of Bethlehem, with it's tents, stalls, costumed people and more. Live background music plays softly as you walk around and view over 600 nativity scenes from all across the world, in all mediums and all skill levels. Each night offers concerts from different community and church groups from Corvallis, Albany and Philomath. (Please click on information pages on left for a complete schedule) The Children's Room features dress up clothes for children for picture taking opportunities and other activities for them to participate in. The Puppet Show is a short narrated musical presentation for all ages. (Again, click on information pages at left for show times each day)
Monday evening we will have our first community-wide Messiah Sing In. You can sing or sit and be surrounded by beautiful selections from Handel's Messiah. It will be an experience you won't want to miss. Come early because seating is limited!
We always welcome new contributors who would like to display their nativities. Security is provided around the clock during the entire time that nativities are in the building. We are also looking for polished musical performers to participate by providing at least a 1/2 hour of background music during exhibit hours. If you are interested in participating in other ways, we have need of people to act as Host/Hostess (in costumes provided), help with set up and take down and various other jobs. Please contact us at nativityfest@gmail.com to let us know you are interested.
